Vice President for Development
The Second Mile seeks a Vice President for Development to provide overall leadership for annual and capital campaigns. The Vice President will report directly to the President and work closely with the senior-management team, Development & Campaign Committees, and Board of Directors. The Vice President will manage and oversee a fundraising staff of five direct reports. The Vice President is also responsible for developing annual goal setting and fundraising plans and directing related activities in support of achieving specific goals and objectives in the areas of campaign giving, annual giving, planned giving, major gifts and development of donor base. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and lead the staff and volunteers to identify, cultivate and solicit donors in support of fundraising.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree with a minimum 5 years development/advancement experience, preferably in major gifts, annual giving, and planned giving. Candidates should have an understanding of overall leadership required for annual and capital campaigns and possess strong organizational and management skills. Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to work with a variety of people, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Certification as a Fundraising Executive (CFRE) preferred.
